Dear Skålleagues,
As we draw the curtain on another year, I want to extend my warmest Christmas wishes to all our Skålleagues across Australia, and beyond. The festive season is a time to reflect, celebrate, and connect, and there is much to celebrate within our vibrant Skål community.2024 has been a year of challenges and triumphs, and the support and dedication of our members has been instrumental in driving the success of Skål Australia. Through your active participation, we have strengthened our network, fostered meaningful collaborations, and promoted the ethos of friendship, professionalism, and mutual respect that define Skål.
I’ve had the pleasure to be able to visit a number of Clubs throughout the year and event attend a few Christmas events around the country and I can definitely say that the Skål spirit is alive and well in Australia. I hope you’ll have a look at the Club reports this month to see what Christmas hijinks everyone has been up to. You’re all a massive credit to Skål.
On a personal note, I am deeply humbled and honoured to have received the Skål International Sydney Max Kingston Skålleague of the Year Award at the recent Skål Sydney Christmas lunch. This award is named after someone who we all admired greatly and who was indeed the pre-eminent Skålleague. Above all that Max was a great friend and mentor to me through my career and my journey in Skål. To be recognised with this award in his name is truly an amazing honour and one that I will treasure always.
As we celebrate the holidays, let us also look ahead to 2025, which promises to be another exciting chapter for Skål Australia, with new opportunities to grow, innovate, and connect on both a national and international scale. Together, we can continue to build on our successes and make a meaningful impact within the travel and tourism industry.
May this festive season bring you joy, peace, and cherished moments with loved ones. Thank you for your support and commitment throughout the year. Here’s to a prosperous and inspiring 2025 for us all.
